Xiaomi will be announcing the launch date of its latest flagship smartphone in the next few of days. Though the company launched only the Xiaomi Mi 5 in 2016, this year, we will be seeing the launch of Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus smartphones. The rumors suggest these devices come with glass back body and there will be a limited edition variants with a ceramic back panel. Now, the latest leaks suggest the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus offers IRIS scanner to enhance the security of the device. The recently launched Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones came with the IRIS scanner onboard. From the newly leaked images, we can see the large cut out between the front-facing camera and the earpiece.

While the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 smartphones came with a fairly bigger display fitted to the smaller body of the phones. There are very thin bezels all around the screen; hence the screen to body ratio is higher than most of the other flagship devices. Though Xiaomi started this phenomenon of the bezel-less flagship smartphone by launching the Mi MIX. It came with a large 6.4-inch display featuring very thin bezels on three out of four sides. Even the physical earpiece, proximity sensor, and front facing camera are missing on the top bezel of the device. a If the leaked image is of the Xiaomi Mi 6, then we will have a fairly large phone with bigger top and bottom bezels, just like Google Pixel and Apple iPhones.

As rumors suggested, the company might offer flat panel display instead of the curved display as on the last years Mi Note 2. While the Mi 5 came with a thin and long physical home button with integrated fingerprint sensor, the Mi 6 features a big oval shaped home button. However, there is no clear information whether it will be a physical button or the virtual button with ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The Mi 5S smartphone launched in the second half of 2016 came with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor that is placed under the front panel of the device. It uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon Sense ID biometrics technologies and it is also the first smartphone to use this technology.
