The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update is starting to roll out and today we want to give you some reasons to, and not to, install the Android 7.0 Nougat update when it arrives for your version of the Galaxy Note 5.

Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed a Galaxy Note 5 Nougat release for the first half of 2017. Earlier this month, the company made good on its promise.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update is rolling out right now alongside the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S6 Nougat updates. And like those upgrades, the Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update is packed with exciting features, tweaks and improvements.

The Galaxy Note 5’s Nougat update is currently very limited (it’s rolling out in Turkey) but it’s expected to spread as the weeks go on. The update is confirmed for several different models including Note 5’s based in the United States.

When your Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update arrives, you’ll be tempted to install it immediately. We don’t, and won’t, blame you.

Some of you will be ok to install the Android 7.0 Nougat update on your phone right away. Others might benefit from waiting an hour, a day, or longer.

To help you make a decision, we are going to take you through some reasons to, and not to, install Android 7.0 Nougat on your Galaxy Note 5.

Install Nougat If You Want to Improve Your Security

Install Nougat If You Want to Improve Your Security

If you value your device’s security you’ll probably want to install the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update soon after it arrives.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update will deliver the most recent security patches from Google and Samsung. The first Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update features the recent March security patch. We expect all upcoming Galaxy Note 5 Nougat updates to feature the March update (or something newer) when they touch down.

If you failed to download a recent security update, you’ll need to download it before you can install Nougat on your Galaxy Note 5.

As expected, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Nougat update also brings Samsung Pass to the device for the first time.

Samsung Pass is a powerful tool that serves as a master key to all of your logins. Samsung Pass uses the Galaxy Note 5’s fingerprint scanner to keep your information safe. Added security and added convenience make an excellent combination.
